Police Identify Woman Found Slain in Alley Behind Industrial Complex

Authorities on Tuesday identified the battered body of a woman dumped behind an industrial complex as Joy Lynn Janoe, 40, of Anaheim.

But investigators declined to release details about the killing, saying only that a coroner’s report revealed that Janoe died from blows to the head from a blunt object.

On Tuesday, the victim’s husband, Bobby Shawn Janoe, said he wanted to get more information from investigators before commenting on the matter.

Joy Janoe, wearing a sweater and jeans, was found about 7 a.m. Monday in an alley near Weststate Street and Bishop Place in Little Saigon.

Ruth Munoz, who works for a business in the industrial complex, said she found the body while walking in the alley.

“I saw her laying down,” Munoz said. “I didn’t know if she was dead or not. Then I saw that her hands were all white and that’s when I called 911.”
