West Covina : Man Found Slain in Home
A 57-year-old man found shot to death in his home Monday was apparently murdered by an acquaintance he brought home from a health club, police said.
Ronnie E. Everly, a salesman who lived in the 100 block of S. Fircroft Ave., was seen about 2 p.m. Monday talking in his front yard to a muscular man dressed in a gray sweat shirt and jeans.
Everly’s body, clad in workout clothes, was discovered about three hours later by his wife in the back bedroom of the house.
West Covina police said there was no sign of a struggle, but Everly’s wallet, jewelry and car were taken.
Police said Everly was a member of a health club that has branches in three San Gabriel Valley communities, but they declined to name the club.
Police were seeking the man last seen talking to Everly, described as a Latino in his late 20s or early 30s, 5-foot-9 to 6-feet tall, with dark brown hair.
Everly’s missing car is a black 1983 Buick Century with California license plates, 2GRB561.
