CLOSED-DOOR VOTE: Mary Hayden of Irvine’s Woodbridge Parkside spent $500 to install front doors with windows as had her neighbors down the street. But she learned her neighbors have a different homeowners association. Her association told her by letter she has 30 days to reinstall her old doors or properly apply for the new ones. . . . “I think they’re people with small minds with big power,” she says. “It’s not like I’m trying to degrade the community.” The association says it is just following the rules that such changes have to be approved first.
