A Pacoima woman accomplice of a major San Fernando Valley drug dealer was sentenced Thursday to 18 years in state prison for possessing more than 100 pounds of cocaine.

Tammy Jimenez, 28, was sentenced in Van Nuys Superior Court by Judge John Fisher. Jimenez and George (Danny) Trujillo, 28, also of Pacoima, were convicted Dec. 20 of possessing 54 kilograms of cocaine and of possessing $207,000 used in drug trafficking. Trujillo faces up to 30 years in prison when sentenced Jan. 24.

Jimenez and Trujillo--whom prosecutors said is “one of the bigger dealers in the Valley”--were arrested July 12, 1989, at the former Registry Hotel in Universal City.

During the trial, Trujillo said the drugs and cash belonged to a friend and that he was hiding out at the hotel from police who wanted to question him about a robbery and other incidents.
