O.C. CUP?: In the 1986 Cup race, the Newport Harbor Yacht Club had an entry, the Eagle Challenge. But after much anticipation, the boat did poorly in the competition in Fremantle, Australia. . . . The club has no plans to re-enter the Cup fray. “We have too many other things going on,” says the club’s race administrator, Metta Segerblom. Among upcoming events: hosting part of the Olympic boating trials.
