Pianist Lupo to Make Local Debut Feb. 20
Italian pianist Benedetto Lupo will make his Los Angeles-area debut in a recital at Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m.
Lupo took the bronze medal at the 1989 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Ft. Worth, Tex. Earlier, he had won other international prizes at the 1985 Casadesus Competition and the 1986 Gina Bachauer Competition.
He will play this program: Brahms’ Two Rhapsodies, Opus 79; Schumman’s Fantasy-Pieces, Opus 12; Debussy’s “Images,” Book II, and Rachmaninoff’s Sonata No. 2 (second version).
