Recruiting: David Knuff, the Southern Section Division I football player of the year last season at Mater Dei, has signed with Washington State, the school announced.

Knuff, a 6-3, 205-pound tight end and linebacker, chose Washington State over Nevada and Utah State. He also plans to play baseball in college.

Knuff caught 61 passes for 1,094 yards and had 70 tackles for the Monarchs, who won the Division I championship.
