Authorware, MacroMind Announce Merger: The two companies said they plan to merge under an agreement that will take effect in April. The merger will create the leading independent supplier of multimedia application software, the companies said. They declined to disclose financial terms, but said both companies will have an equal interest in the merged entity. Tim Mott, president and chief executive of San Francisco-based MacroMind-Paracomp, will become chairman and chief executive of the new company. John C. (Bud) Colligan, president and chief executive of Authorware, based in Redwood City, Calif., will be the new company’s president and chief operating officer.
