Conservative Republicans and the religious right rail about immoral, obscene art supported by the NEA, motivating Bush to jettison Frohnmayer. Does anything the NEA ever supported approach the obscenity of Bush’s clandestine support of Iraq nine months prior to the invasion of Kuwait? Voters must put morality in perspective and get rid of the self-anointed moralists who have placed our country on the verge of ruin in the past decade. The people who have been running Republican administrations since Nixon have been arrogant and scornful of constitutional limits on the executive branch, have used deceit extravagantly and have been found guilty of countless perjuries and violations of the law. In November, let’s clean house.
