County health officials shut down three food outlets for code violations last month, including two that were flooded out by torrential rainstorms.

A Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Oxnard was ordered to close down Feb. 7 because of sewage backups in the kitchen area, said Elizabeth Huff, supervisor for restaurant inspections. A health inspector allowed the restaurant in the 100 block of West Gonzales Road to reopen two days later after cleanup, she said.

Stagecoach Liquors in Newbury Park was closed Feb. 11 due to the first phase of flooding in last month’s rainstorms, Huff said. She said the store, in the 1500 block of Newbury Road, reopened Feb. 27 after workers cleaned up the aftermath of the floodwaters.

Huff said a food store at the Ventura Beach RV Resort also was closed down Feb. 13 because of floodwaters. The store has not reopened, she said.
