He’s Chevy, She’s Not

Concerning your article on Bracco: I say three cheers and more for her bravado! Critics call her “screechy,” making fun of her New York mannerisms. Hey, critics make fun of Ellen Barkin’s crooked smile. So what?

But I have to admonish writer De Vries for not mentioning Premiere magazine’s follow-up to the article she cited. In it, Sean Connery stalwartly defends Bracco’s performance and actions on the set of “Medicine Man,” despite the adverse conditions. (I speak not only of the location but also of director John McTiernan.)

We’ve got an actress here with a lot of staying power--she’s going to be around for as many years as she chooses.
