Enright supervised murder trials that sent two dozen men to Death Row--and once said the county’s “strong feelings about law and order” made it a natural pro-death-penalty locale. After an unsuccessful race for district attorney in 1990, Enright now tries to keep clients out of the gas chamber as a defense lawyer. . . . County judges just named Enright one of 10 veteran lawyers to defend accused murderers facing the death penalty in cases where public defenders or other private lawyers aren’t available.
