Motorcyclist Is Struck by Car, Killed
A motorcyclist was struck by a car and killed as he swerved into traffic near Acton, authorities said Sunday.
The 54-year-old Sherman Oaks man, whose name was being withheld until relatives could be notified, was riding north on the shoulder of Soledad Canyon Road near Listie Avenue about 12:45 p.m. Saturday when he turned suddenly into traffic lanes, California Highway Patrol Officer Bill Granados said.
He was hit from behind by a northbound car driven by Frank Williams, 26, of Acton and thrown from his motorcycle, Granados said.
Williams will not be cited because “the errant driver was the motorcyclist,” Granados said.
