VAN NUYS : Reseda Man Found Guilty of Murder
A Van Nuys Superior Court jury convicted a Reseda man Monday of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of a janitor.
Keith Allen Parker, 26, was found guilty of using a knife to kill Rick Migneault, 44, after the two argued outside the Sherman Way apartment building where the victim worked.
Parker, a sailor, was on a 48-hour pass from the Navy base at Long Beach, authorities said.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Shellie Samuels said Parker faces a mandatory term of 16 years to life in prison when he is sentenced March 25 by Judge Darlene Schempp.
Parker claimed on the stand that he was defending himself from Migneault. But prosecution witnesses said the victim was drunk and was no threat to Parker.
