BANKING
Western Financial Promotion: The parent company of Western Financial Savings Bank promoted its treasurer, Joy Schaefer Fackler, to chief financial officer of the company and the savings and loan as part of a reshuffling of its business office after the retirement of Milton Jensen.
Schaefer Fackler, a certified public accountant, also retains her positions as treasurer in Irvine-based Westcorp and its thrift.
In addition, Lee A. Whatcott, who had been manager of accounting, was promoted to vice president and controller. Both Schaefer Fackler, who joined Westcorp in 1990, and Whatcott, who joined in 1988, had worked at Ernst & Whinney, one of the two major accounting firms that merged in 1990 to form Ernst & Young.
