Master’s Begins Tournament Seeded 2nd

The Master’s College will play Missouri Baptist in the opening round of the National Christian College Basketball tournament at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind., today at 1 p.m.

Master’s is seeded second in the tournament behind Cedarville College, Ohio.

Last year, Master’s finished second, losing to John Brown University in the final.

Master’s (21-11) is led by senior forwards Jason Webster and Tom Bruner, who average 17.4 and 12.5 points a game. Webster also leads the team in rebounds with a 6.3 average.

This season, Master’s advanced to the semifinals of the National Assn. of Intercollegiate Athletics District 3 tournament, in which it lost to Westmont, 95-87, in double overtime March 7.

It was the furthest Master’s has advanced in the NAIA District tournament.
