LOS ANGELES COUNTY : Disaster Service Centers for Storm Victims to Close
Disaster Service Centers that were set up in North Hollywood, Malibu and Thousand Oaks to accept applications for assistance from individuals, families and business owners affected by the storms that hit last month will close today.
Residents who suffered damage can continue to register for possible assistance through April 27 by calling (800) 462-9029 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Federal and state officials encourage residents to inquire about low-interest loans and other programs made available by President Bush’s Feb. 25 disaster declaration. As of Wednesday, 2,440 requests for assistance had been received.
Beginning Monday, those who may qualify for low-interest loans from the Small Business Administration can get assistance from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 657 W. Duarte Road in Arcadia. For questions regarding the loans, call (800) 462-7585.
