A 19-year-old man was ordered Monday to stand trial for murder in the stabbing death of a physician who was found by the cliffs at Point Loma Nazarene College.
David Michael Williams, of Chula Vista, is accused of killing Dr. Jaime Hinahon, 33, on Feb. 5.
Hinahon was stabbed in the chest, face and shoulder. He worked at a clinic in El Cajon and had known Williams for one week before he was killed, according to testimony in the preliminary hearing.
San Diego Police Detective Felix Zavala testified that Williams confessed to killing the doctor at the cliffs area after Hinahon made a pass at him.
On Feb. 13, Williams was found with the doctor’s wallet, car keys and credit cards and was arrested. A bloody jacket was found in his closet.
Williams was ordered to appear in Superior Court on April 6 for a trial date. He is in County Jail on $250,000 bail.
