SANTA CLARITA : Deputy Cleared in Shooting of Man
The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office cleared a sheriff’s deputy of wrongdoing in the shooting of a Torrance man who was allegedly stalking his estranged girlfriend in Santa Clarita, authorities said Friday.
Deputy Scott Seeman will not be charged in the Nov. 29 shooting of Brian Mittenhuber, 19, who was shot five times in the incident, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Alan Yochelson.
After a scuffle in which he took a police baton from Seeman’s partner, Mittenhuber was shot while charging Seeman, according Yochelson’s report. He was shot in the neck, right arm and back.
Mittenhuber is awaiting trial in San Fernando Superior Court.
