What’s in a Name: Yukon, Okla., wanted to honor the city’s favorite son by changing the name of 11th Street to Garth Brooks Boulevard. But in making the change this week, city officials worried that people would steal the signs, so except for one on Interstate 40, they are high up on street lights. “You need a hook-and-ladder truck to get one down,” said the city manager. Brooks, whose current hit album “Ropin’ the Wind” has sold more than 7 million copies, already is honored in Yukon with his name painted on a water tower. The country singer was born in Tulsa but grew up in Yukon, in central Oklahoma.
