ANAHEIM : Police Identify Shooting Victim
Police on Sunday identified a 34-year-old woman, who was allegedly shot to death by her live-in boyfriend, as Helen Ann Howard.
Howard was found by police with a gunshot to the head Saturday morning in her apartment.
Police went to the home in answer to an unidentified caller who reported hearing gunshots.
Police detained the woman’s boyfriend, Udell S. Madden III, 42, who was at the apartment when they arrived, Sgt. Thomas Lahmon said. He was later arrested in connection with the shooting death, Lahmon said.
The couple had been living together for several months at the complex, the Gramercy Apartments, at 1727 W. Glenoaks Ave., police said.
A gun, believed to have been used in the killing, was found in the apartment, police said.
Madden was being held at the Anaheim Temporary Detention Facility on $250,000 bail.
