Wildmon Court Date: A multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the Rev. Donald Wildmon that alleges that he unfairly obstructed the distribution and screening of a British documentary about arts censorship in the United States will go to trial May 1, a federal court judge in New York ruled Monday. Wildmon’s attorneys asked U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence McKenna to dismiss the case, but he declined. His attorneys also were unsuccessful in their request that the judge seal the court files on the case, which contain a copy of the documentary “Damned in the USA.” As a result, the producers now intend to show the film at a press conference. Wildmon had earlier filed suit against the producers, preventing the documentary from being screened in this country.
