Sunny skies and above-normal temperatures will continue throughout the Easter weekend, weather forecasters said.

On Thursday, downtown thermometers peaked at 72 degrees, 4 degrees above normal, prompting three elementary schoolgirls in North Park to pull out a little red wagon and sell made-from-powder lemonade--which they promoted as “freshly made.”

Easter Sunday--The Times incorrectly reported information Friday about when Easter is celebrated. Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox.

The warm temperatures are expected to increase as the weekend goes by, said Wilbur Shigehara, chief forecaster for the National Weather Service in San Diego.

This year’s Easter sunrise will be at 6:15 a.m., Shigehara said. Some patchy fog and a few low clouds are expected at sunrise, but for the most part the skies should be gloriously clear, Shigehara said.

Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon in April, and Shigehara said this Easter weekend should be the warmest weekend of the month.

Temperatures are expected to reach 75 degrees downtown today. Owners of docked boats have been informed that tonight’s full moon will create a high tide of 6.6 feet at 10 p.m., Shigehara said.

On Saturday and Sunday, highs might reach 80 degrees, Shigehara said. Nighttime lows should be in the low 60s.

Inland, the highs are expected to hover in the upper 80s today and flirt with 90 degrees as the weekend progresses. The lows are expected to drop to the 60s at night.

At the beaches, temperatures should reach nearly 70 degrees. The water temperature will remain unseasonably warm this weekend, from 63 to 66 degrees.

The deserts will have highs near 95 degrees all weekend, with lows in the 60s, Shigehara said. The mountains will have highs from 62 to 68 all weekend and lows in the 40s, he said.
