Real Estate Prices Falling: Rents and real estate prices are coming off their peaks, raising hopes that reduced costs will enable companies to be more competitive. Falling property prices, however, are bad news for people who put their money in property stocks to hedge against weakening interest rates. The prospects of a softer property market, swamped by an oversupply of buildings and poor results of some locally listed property companies, have contributed to as much as a 10% drop in property share prices recently.
