Paul Watson, starting quarterback at Kansas State, was in stable condition at a hospital in Manhattan, Kan., Saturday after suffering four stab wounds during a fight Friday night.

An 18-year-old man and two juveniles were arrested in connection with the attack on Watson. The juveniles were released to their parents, and the man was booked on suspicion of aggravated assault, said Sgt. Adam Angst of the Riley County police. No weapons were recovered.

Watson, a senior from Kansas City, Mo., led the Wildcats to a 7-4 record in 1991. He set several school records and earned an All-Big Eight honorable mention after leading the team to its first seven-victory season since 1954.
