Mike Tyson pleaded guilty Wednesday to one charge of threatening prison staff workers and not guilty to a second.

A hearing date was set for next Wednesday for the former heavyweight champion, who is serving a six-year sentence for rape at the Indiana Youth Center in Plainfield, Ind. He will spend the next week in a segregated unit awaiting a hearing on those charges.

The first incident occurred Monday night in the prison commissary, where Tyson reportedly threatened an officer, according to Kevin Moore, a spokesman for the Indiana Department of Correction.

About two hours later, Tyson was taken to the shift supervisor’s office to discuss the first incident.

“At that point, he became belligerent and threatened the staff,” Moore said.

Tyson pleaded not guilty to the charge stemming from the commissary incident and guilty to the other.
