Computer Pact: AST Research Inc., a computer maker in Irvine, said it has signed an agreement to sell its Advantage! line of personal computers in CostCo Wholesale Club warehouse stores.

CostCo, which operates in 12 states, is the latest in a line of retailers who have decided to offer AST’s computers in the past six months as part of AST’s strategy to sell more computers through the increasingly popular retailers who sell large volumes of computers for low prices.

Other retailers include Circuit City, Computer City Supercenters, Computerland Express and BJ’s Wholesale Club stores, and Canada-based chains London Drug and Majestic Sound Warehouse. AST also sells its computers through armed forces PX exchanges on military bases.
