Reed Death Update: Actor Robert Reed, who starred on “The Brady Bunch,” was infected with the AIDS virus and it contributed to his death a week ago, according to his death certificate that was obtained Tuesday by the Associated Press. The immediate cause of death was colon lymphoma, with the HIV infection listed among “significant conditions contributing to death,” according to Dr. H. Rex Greene, Reed’s doctor, who signed the certificate. Reed died May 12 at age 59 at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. His daughter, Karen Baldwin of Wheeling, Ill., said at the time that her father died of colon cancer. There was no mention of HIV infection.
