In other 3-A games:

Garden Grove 4, Apple Valley 3--Steve Hoalton’s two-out single in the top of the seventh drove in pinch-runner Manny Vargas with the winning run for Garden Grove at Apple Valley. Shawn Black was three for three with a solo home run in the third for the Argonauts (16-8), who meet Tustin in the quarterfinals Friday.

Laguna Hills 15, Norco 9--The Hawks overcame a 6-1 deficit with an eight-run third inning. Laguna Hills sent 12 batters to the plate in the inning. Matt Stilson was four for five with three runs scored and two RBIs, including two singles in the third, and Jason Pierson was two four with three runs scored and two RBIs. Laguna Hills (19-8) meets Norwalk in Friday’s quarterfinals.

In the 1-A Division:

Oak Park 1, Orange Lutheran 0--Jeff Gibbons pitched a four-hitter and hit a solo home run in the top of the third for Oak Park (14-9). Matt Hendren threw a three-hitter and struck out 10 for Orange Lutheran (19-5), a 1-A finalist last season.

In the Small Schools Division:

Southern California Christian 6, Ojai Villanova Prep 2--Mike Caballero had a two-run single during a five-run first inning for host Southern California Christian at Villa Park High. Nathan Lambie had three stolen bases and Mike Selten scored twice for SCC, which will meet Linfield Christian in the quarterfinals Friday.

Calvary Chapel 7, North Hollywood Oakwood 1--Ryan Elliott had three hits and drove in two runs, Sabe Younger had two hits and an RBI and Chance King had a double and scored two runs for visiting Calvary Chapel (13-7). Bryce Oakland had a hit and scored two runs and drove in another run for Calvary Chapel, which will play Flintridge Prep in Friday’s quarterfinals.
