‘She Hit Me,’ Thief Says of His 79-Year-Old Victim

A purse snatcher who was chased down by a 79-year-old woman said he offered to give back her belongings but that she hit him. “She hit me about 10 times. I needed stitches,” James Brown, 39, testified before he was convicted of theft and assault. He is awaiting sentencing.
