Newport Harbor’s Griffo to Play at Long Beach

Frank Griffo of Newport Harbor High School has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Cal State Long Beach next season, Sailor Coach Dan Glenn said Sunday.

Griffo, a 6-foot-7 middle blocker, chose Long Beach over Hawaii. Griffo was a first-team all-Sea View League selection and led the Sailors (17-2) to the Southern Section 4-A semifinals.
