Aura Systems Delays Financial Report: The El Segundo firm, a research company working on potential industrial uses for magnetic suspension systems, said the financial report for its last fiscal year will be filed “by the end of the week.” The report, for the 12 months ended Feb. 29, had been due at the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday. Aura President Harry Kurtzman said the firm’s auditors needed more time partly because of an accounting change that will defer revenue on a government pact from last year into this year. Kurtzman said Aura will report a loss for the fiscal year, but he said the loss and the accounting change “are not indicative of any adverse change in the company’s business or operations.” Aura stock gained 50 cents to close at $5.875 on the NASDAQ market after plunging $1.375 on Friday.
