Weather and Other Woes Delay Launch of Rocket
The launch of a Delta rocket carrying a scientific satellite was postponed Saturday for a third time because of weather and technical problems.
The Air Force will try again today to launch the rocket for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
The countdown was halted Saturday when thunderstorms threatened, radar needed to track the rocket malfunctioned and problems were detected in communications between the spacecraft and the ground.
The satellite, called the Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer, is designed to examine the sun and other stars emitting ultraviolet radiation.
