Compaq to Start Selling Computer Printers: Compaq Computer Corp. plans to announce today its entry into the printer business, a move to broaden its product line beyond personal computers. But the first Compaq printers won’t actually be unveiled until “later this year,” the company said. The machines will be designed to be connected to networks of PCs. They will be the first in a broad line of printers, said David Black, general manager of the Compaq division created to develop and sell printers.
