Man Dies When Car Hits Pole
A Sun Valley man died when he lost control of his car on a rain-slicked street and smashed into a power pole, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
Manuel Chavez, 35, was driving east on Sunland Boulevard near Nettleton Street about 11:05 p.m. Saturday when his car swerved to the south side of the road and hit a power pole, Officer John Baby said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation. No one else was injured.
