Expansion: National Bank of Southern California both expanded and relocated as it solidified its role as one of the county’s largest independent banks with what Findley calculated as more than $375 million in assets at the end of 1991.

National Bank opened a regional facility in Newport Beach near John Wayne Airport and moved its headquarters there from southern Santa Ana, where its more expensive lease had expired. The bank still maintains a branch at the old location.
