RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE : Custom Home Building Exposition to Be Held at Newport Coast Development

Building a home from the ground up is an experience most Orange County residents will never have--there aren’t that many vacant parcels left, particularly at affordable prices.

But those with a custom home in their future might want to drop by the new Newport Coast development area Sunday for a custom home building exposition sponsored by the Irvine Co.

The 11 a.m.-to-6 p.m. event will be held at Pelican Hill, a gated custom home neighborhood recently opened by the Irvine Co.

While the company obviously wants to promote sales of the Pelican Hill lots--sites are priced from $700,000 to $2 million--visitors don’t have to be prospective buyers.

The event will feature exhibitions by purveyors of custom building products and services.

In addition, three panels are offered in which experts will discuss landscape architecture and the selection of building contractors and architects. All three panels, however, will focus on the processes as they pertain to custom building within Newport Coast.

In addition to Pelican Hill, the Irvine Co. has opened two other custom home neighborhoods in Newport Coast: Ocean Ridge, where lots are priced from $500,000 to $800,000, and Pelican Point, where home sites run from $900,000 to more than $3 million.
