LOS ANGELES : Funeral Monday for Rock Drummer
- Share via
A public funeral will be held Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park for well-known rock drummer Jeff Porcaro, who died Wednesday after suffering a heart attack.
An autopsy to determine the cause of the heart attack was conducted Friday by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, but the results will not be known until next week. A coroner’s spokesman had theorized that Porcaro’s death may have been related to the inhalation of a pesticide the drummer was applying to his lawn shortly before his death.
Porcaro, 38, was a founder of the Grammy-winning rock band Toto and a highly respected session drummer. The funeral and burial is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the Hall of Liberty at Forest Lawn, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, in the Hollywood Hills.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jeff Porcaro Memorial Fund, 50 W. Main St., Ventura 93001. The fund will benefit the music department at Grant High School in Van Nuys.
