Discounts Offered to 2 Texas Cities

Travelers heading to Texas in the upcoming months should look into discount programs available in San Antonio and Ft. Worth. The discounts can be found at a variety of hotels, restaurants and entertainment attractions in both cities.

Among the participating hotels in the “San Antonio Vacation Experience” are the Sheraton Gunter, Holiday Inn Riverwalk, Marriott Riverwalk, Fairmount, Wyndham San Antonio, Hyatt Regency San Antonio on the Riverwalk and San Antonio Airport Hilton. Besides discounted rooms, benefits may include free kids’ meals, river barge tickets and trolley tokens.

Participating theme parks include Splashtown, Fiesta Texas and Sea World of Texas. Discounts are also available at other attractions, including the Institute of Texas Cultures, Tower of the Americas/HemisFair Park, Lone Star Brewery/Buckhorn Museum, San Antonio Zoo, Witte Museum, IMAX Theater, Lone Star Trolley Co. and San Antonio Botanical Gardens.

Among nearby discounted attractions are the Cascade Caverns in Boerne, Schlitterbahn Resort and Waterpark in New Braunfels, Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch between San Antonio and New Braunfels and Wonder World and Aquarena Springs in San Marcos.

Most discounts are available through Dec. 31.

Brochures, including coupons redeemable for the discounts, are available by calling the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau at (800) 447-3372. Beside phone numbers for the hotels, sightseeing attractions and restaurants, maps and a schedule of events through the end of October are included.

The Ft. Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau is offering a “Visitor’s Value Pack,” complete with coupons redeemable for discounts at hotels, sightseeing attractions and theme parks. Hotels include the Radisson Plaza, Worthington, Ramada Hotel Downtown and Park Central. Among the discounted attractions are Six Flags Over Texas, Trader’s Village, Tarantula Steam Train and Ft. Worth Stockyards.
