Man Shot to Death While Riding in Car in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA — An apparently random shooting claimed the life of a 21-year-old man riding in a car with three other men early Sunday morning, a Santa Ana police official said.
Marcus Jordan, 21, of Santa Ana died soon after being shot in the back of the head about 1 a.m. in the 2300 block of St. Gertrude Place in Santa Ana, Lt. Dave Petko said. Police said the single shot apparently was fired from a house.
The other men in the car told police that they were driving near Greenville Street when a shot was fired and Jordan slumped forward.
“We don’t know why he was shot, and we haven’t found anyone from any of the houses nearby who knew the victim,” Petko said.
Investigators are questioning a number of possible suspects but have not been able to find a reason for the shooting.
