RAMONA : 17-Year-Old Dies in Crash Near Home
A 17-year-old Ramona driver was killed when he crash his truck on a rural road a few blocks from his home early Friday morning, authorities said.
Ryan Hiffem’s 1989 pickup was southbound on Ramona Oaks Road near Sugarplum Way at 12:16 a.m. when he ran off the road and overturned, eventually running into a concrete wall, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.
Hiffem, who was thrown from the truck, was taken by LifeFlight to Palomar Hospital where he was pronounced dead, probably from multiple internal injuries, the medical examiner’s office said.
