Don’t Move, Improve

Re “Wanted: Peace, Not Too Much Quiet” (Aug. 31): I, like Janna Gelfand, am in my early 30s and grew up in Westwood. I share Gelfand’s dismay at how Los Angeles has changed for the worse.

However, Los Angeles is my home, and rather than flee the problems, I want to make this city a better place. I find it sad that people are so willing to abandon their hometown at a time when the need for all of us to work to revitalize our city has never been greater.
