LMU Wins Volleyball Tourney
Loyola Marymount’s women’s volleyball team defeated Colorado State on Saturday to win the Colorado State Tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo., by scores of 4-15, 16-14, 16-14 and 16-14.
The Lions earlier in the day defeated Sam Houston State by scores of 15-9, 11-15, 15-4, 15-9 to set up the championship match against Colorado State.
The Lions raised their early-season record to 3-1.
Three Lions were named to the all-tournament team. Junior outside hitter Deanna Doolittle was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Senior co-captain/outside hitter Joli Eberhart and sophomore setter Robin Ortgiesen were named to the all-tournament team.
The Lions return to action Tuesday.
