Echo Park : Senior Housing Plan OKd
The Planning Commission has unanimously approved construction of a 63-unit senior housing project on Morton Avenue.
The Chinese Community Service Center Inc.’s request to build an 86-unit development on the property had drawn protest from residents, who said the project was too dense and would cause parking problems in the hilly neighborhood. They proposed 42 units on the one-acre site, which had been zoned for 21 units.
The Planning Commission, which approved the compromise last week, also approved a revised design reducing by one story the street-side height of the three-story project.
