PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Shell Hopes to Duplicate Dolphin Rush
Raider Coach Art Shell said the Miami Dolphins beat the Buffalo Bills, 37-10, primarily because they were successful in putting pressure on quarterback Jim Kelly.
“What you try to do is put your best people on the field and give the offense a different look,” Shell said. “They had people right in (Kelly’s) face and controlled their running game.”
Center Don Mosebar is the only Raider listed as questionable because of an ankle injury. If he can’t play, Todd Peat will move from his starting right guard position to center, with Greg Skrepenak replacing him.
The only AFC individual statistic leader for the Raiders is Tim Brown, who leads receivers at 21.5 yards per catch. The Raiders are tied with the New England Patriots with the worst turnover differential, minus-11, having turned the ball over 16 times and forced only five. . . . Eric Dickerson needs 72 yards to surpass Tony Dorsett for second place on the NFL’s rushing list. Dickerson has 12,668 yards.
