Trust Fund Disclosures to Be Required: The Finance Ministry will require publicly traded companies to disclose appraisal losses on assets held in trust funds from the current fiscal year to March, 1993, the Nihon Keizai newspaper said. The move is aimed at restoring individual investors’ confidence in the stock market by making companies’ investments more transparent, the paper said. In a stock market scandal that came to light in the summer of 1991, major companies were found to have received stock investment loss compensations from brokers through manipulation of trust funds, the paper said.
