ORANGE : Police Seek Clues in Fatal Stabbing
Homicide detectives Thursday were investigating the fatal stabbing of an Orange man while he was walking home from work.
A resident in the 500 block of East Dunton Avenue found Robert James Lewis, 36, as the wounded man shouted for help shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
“Help me, I’ve been stabbed!” Lewis yelled, according to Orange Police Lt. Timm Browne.
Paramedics took Lewis to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he died, Browne said.
Lewis was a part-time clerk at Orange Tree Liquor near Lincoln Avenue and Glassell Street, store owner John Choy said.
“He was a good worker, never any problems,” Choy said.
Lewis had just finished working at the liquor store and had almost made it home when he was stabbed, police said.
Police do not have anyone in custody in connection with the killing, Browne said.
