HUNTINGTON BEACH : Trustee to Serve on National Group

Armando R. Ruiz, vice president of the Coast Community College District Board of Trustees, has been elected to the Assn. of Community College Trustees, a national organization.
Ruiz, a resident of Huntington Beach for 16 years, is one of 26 trustees to serve on the association that represents 6,500 board members from 900 community, technical and junior colleges nationwide, a spokeswoman said.
He is also a counselor at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo. Ruiz, who will serve a three-year term, has been a trustee in the Coast Community College District since 1983. He served as president twice and vice president four times. He won another term in Tuesday’s election.
