NBC Forms Partnership to Deliver News Via Computer: NBC, IBM and NuMedia Corp. have formed a joint venture to market-test a new multimedia news and information service called NBC Desktop News. The service will deliver full-motion video to business personal computer users for a monthly fee. NBC will provide the editorial material, and IBM will market the product. NuMedia has designed the patented software. Users will be given the choice of three different levels of service and will be able to select industry-specific business news. The partners said NBC Desktop News could serve as a prototype for delivering custom-designed TV news to the home.
