In Division II:

Marina 3, Long Beach Poly 2--Jaime Wehrhan had 26 kills as Marina (11-5) upset second-seeded Long Beach Poly (14-2), 15-11, 16-14, 13-15, 7-15, 15-9.

El Modena 3, Troy 0--Jamie Shine had 27 assists and Lynette Anderson had 17 kills to lead El Modena to a 15-4, 15-9, 15-3 sweep over Troy.

Los Alamitos 3, San Gabriel 1--Maria Bowden had a career-high 23 kills and Midori Bruel added 12 for host Los Alamitos, which won, 15-8, 15-12, 11-15, 15-12. The Griffins (13-2) advanced to the second round against Bishop Montgomery.

Sunny Hills 3, Orange 0--Rachel Hochgesang had nine kills for host Sunny Hills (16-1), which won, 15-5, 15-7, 15-10.

Foothill 3, El Dorado 0--Senior Becca Foltz had 18 kills for the Knights, which defeated El Dorado, 15-5, 15-13, 15-6. Amy Oberstar added eight kills and seven blocks for Foothill (13-2).

Fountain Valley 3, Cypress 1--Gina Ybarra had 17 kills and Lisa Brown had 15 for visiting Fountain Valley (11-6), which upset the Empire League champions, 15-11, 10-15, 15-12, 15-9. Heather Lowe had 26 kills for Cypress.

In Division III:

Kennedy 3, La Sierra 1--Krista Dowland, Kristy Hensel and Lisa Pitt each had eight kills to lead Kennedy (15-2) to a 15-5, 12-15, 15-6, 16-14 victory over La Sierra (11-8).

In Division IV:

Valencia 3, Hemet 0--Kim Dang had 24 assists and Brandy Smerko had 15 kills to lead Valencia (14-3) to a 15-1, 15-5, 15-11 sweep over Hemet (9-8).

In Division V:

Capistrano Valley Christian 3, Cerritos Whitney 0--Kathleen Bunce and Karen Benkovsky each had 14 kills for host Capistrano Valley Christian (14-0), which won, 15-2, 15-4, 15-4.
